SEEN. HEARD. VALUED.
This International Women’s Day, during the month of Ramadan, Hawaa Empower will host an evening honouring and celebrating women of colour who have taken action to shape their futures, despite facing significant challenges. The event will bring together a carefully selected group of leaders, professionals, and partners from across health, sport, the public sector, and the wider community.
Building on the success of our 2025 International Women’s Day event, which celebrated the contributions of Muslim women and fostered meaningful dialogue and connection, this year’s gathering takes a broader focus on women’s wellbeing, leadership, and access to opportunity.
Women of colour remain underrepresented across many sectors. This event aims to provide a platform to recognise talent and achievement, while fostering understanding and unity through discussion and the sharing of lived experiences.
The evening will also include the observance of Ramadan through Iftar, beginning with water and dates, followed by a three-course meal.
There will be opportunities for professional networking, reflection, and connection in a spirit of solidarity and celebration.
The event aims to:
Highlight the lived experiences of women from underrepresented backgrounds, with a focus on wellbeing, access, and participation
Reinforce the importance of shared responsibility and mutual benefit in advancing wellbeing, leadership, and inclusive participation
Create space for thoughtful discussion around health, wellbeing, and participation
Strengthen cross-sector relationships and collaboration
Celebrate progress while identifying areas for continued action
